Last night at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, R&B Singer Trey Songz was arrested for malicious destruction of property and resisting and obstructing arrest. Trey was performing at the fourth annual Big Show at the Joe concert; which is a multi-artist concert. When organizers informed Songz they would have to cut him off due to running over his stage time, the singer became upset.
He told the crowd what he had been told, told them he loved them and bluntly stated:
If a n*gga cut me off, I'm going the f*ck crazy.
He then continued by singing "Gon' do it. Cut me off!" When organizers actually cut him off, Trigga quickly proved to be a man of his word. He went "crazy"; trashing the equipment and stage, then jumping into the crowd. Police say, the singer's violent outburst ended with a Detroit police sergeant's concussion.
Songz was taken into custody and held overnight until his arraignment this morning, where Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced the actual charges against the singer, whose real name is Tremaine Neverson.
The charges include: one count of assaulting a police officer causing injury, and one count of aggravated assault. He was arraigned before Magistrate Dawn White and given a bond of $25,000. Yet, this is far from over. Tremaine is due back in court for a probable cause conference on Jan. 5 at 8:30 a.m. and a preliminary examination on Jan. 11 at 9 a.m., both before Judge Lydia Nance Adams at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice.
