One thing you must remember is that President Obama is also a parent. So, as you could imagine, he had to put on his father hat and explain to his daughters what's going to happen since Donald Trump was elected president.
According to a profile conducted by The New Yorker, which gave inside looks of Obama before and after the election, he had this to say:
"What I say to them is that people are complicated. Societies and cultures are really complicated. ... This is not mathematics; this is biology and chemistry,” Obama told the New Yorker's David Remnick. “These are living organisms and it's messy. And your job as a decent human being is to constantly affirm and lift up and fight for treating people with kindness and respect and understanding.”
I'm sure that Malia, 18, and Sasha, 15, understood this with no problem. But, as I mentioned earlier, there dad is still their dad.
